The FIREFLY series is an ongoing collection of self-published artist fanzines, each conceived as an extension of a body of work rather than an exhibition catalogue. More than publications, these editions are intimate objects; designed to be collected, handled and revisited over time. As children, we are taught not to stare, because staring transforms a simple glance into something deeper, something more revealing. My images ask for exactly that. They are meant to be stared at. I believe that intensity is enough. Sometimes distance is necessary to remember. To allow melancholy.
